i was looking for a bed cover that is blue...or green..kind of simple...or maybe not...but i can find a place that actually has what i want....any places you guys suggest?Where can i find good bed covers for teenagers?
http://teensthemes.comWhere can i find good bed covers for teenagers?
I hope you're talking bedspread...not plastic covers for...I don't want to know.
Any department store should carry them. I would try Target, Walmart, and/or Sears.
Okay, I have a few options depending on your budget. If you have a bigger budget go to Bed Bath and Beyond, they have some good brands such as Roxy. If your budget is somewhat limited you can try Home Goods you have to search around but you can find some really good stuff. Another option is to take a down comforter and make a duvet cover by taking to sheets and sewing them together.

How do teenagers cover the fact they are anorexic?
I'm 14 and I was just wondering when teenagers go anorexic, how do they hide it from their parents?
Wont most parents make them eat?
What do they say the reason is for them not eating?
It would be helpful if someone that was anorexia as a teenager could help me by answering this.
Thanks very much!
How do teenagers cover the fact they are anorexic?
The girl who I know with anorexia is very busy. She has a group she hangs out with and always just says she ate with her friends or when she is with her friends, at home or school. She comes and goes and it is completely believable that she just ate before. Besides, she is a good student and kid so her parents never suspect she would lie or have such a problem.
I'm hoping you are asking out of research or concern for somebody, rather than a desire to hide your own problem. How do teenagers cover the fact they are anorexic?
um well one a child goes to school they can not eat lunch, i eat breakfast alone and i'll have a paper towel and put most of my waffles in it and put it in my lunch and then throw away my lunch when i get to school and then for dinner i just have a small serving, my mom hasn't noticed yet because im very creative in the excuses (i.e. canker sore, braces just got tightened, lunch at school filled me up)
they say stuff like i don't fell well or i ate before you made dinner.
and no most parents would try but then they would throw a big fit and run of to their room.
to hide it they wear like 2 size bigger cloths or something, they drink a lot of water to make them look like their normal weight and they keep their hair in good condition.
i'm not anorexic but my sister is a doctor and she studies this kind of stuff.
its a really horrible disease.
You can never hide the fact from your momma. She knows everything so don't even try it.makeup tutorial

How many people do you think are really teenagers or non-parents posing as parents?
Do you think there are more phony people on this board that meets the eye who make up everything from their job title to how many kids they have?
Just curious to know what others think! Thanks! :)How many people do you think are really teenagers or non-parents posing as parents?
I'm 19 and not a parent, but I'll come out and say it. The thing is, sometimes there needs to be an objective point of view where someone can understand the kid's side of things with a more mature thought process behind it. I'm sure there are plenty of fake people and if anything looks like it was written by someone illiterate, just ignore it. Chances are the people who can't bother to use spell-check are the same ones who can't be honest about their lives. How many people do you think are really teenagers or non-parents posing as parents?
Most people because most kids do this to talk with friends and thier parents don't care what they do.
There are some. Most of them, as others said, are easy to spot. Most teenagers forget that most adults dont use text speak on here, so that is a dead give away for many ';parents'; that are really teens looking for someone to validate how they feel.
I think some of the inconsistent info under differernt qs are people who are just pondering different scenarios. People tend to give different answers if they think they are talking about a real situation rather than something hypothetical. And, sometimes, adults on yahoo answers as a whole are quick to dismiss the people who openly admit they are teenagers.
I tend not to worry about it. I figure that even if the q is a troll, (unless its just crazy) there is someone out there reading it in the same position, so I give valid answers. I do get froggy sometimes and call the people out, but usually only when they are being obnoxious.
I think there are a substantial number of people pretending to be something they're not, but that most of them don't do a very good job at it and it's usually pretty easy to spot them. Often they're asking the first question ever posted under an account, or else they have totally inconsistent information posted under different questions.
It's fine by me as long as they're not being offensive about it. It's not like I'm coming on this board looking for a date or anything. I'd hope that everyone takes much of what is said here with more than a grain of salt.
eta -- I'd just add that, as carrie pointed out in a question recently, any of you could be totally different than what you represent yourselves to be ... and I really wouldn't care as long as your q%26amp;as were still interesting and thought-provoking. The interesting thing about this medium is that it's truly only the ideas that matter, not the identities of the people stating them.
Oh, I think there is at least one who lies about her job. We both know who that is. I'll keep quiet about it, though, lest I adopt yet another troll.
There are a few others who are clearly trolls. Annamariah or whatever she calls herself is a huge phony. Her kids' names kept changing a few months ago, and now she claims to be raising her two or three kids (the number changes every other day), her niece and nephew, and 21 foster children. Yes, you read that correctly - TWENTY - ONE foster children!
Besides that, she allegedly found a baby in a ditch a few months ago, and she adopted it like three days later.
Finally, I'll give you one more hint - there's a new girl floating around with a baby named after an animal. If you haven't figured it out already, you will soon. Kind of sad that these people have to make up fake lives, isn't it?
I think there are fewer fakers than most people seem to think there are. Unless an answer or question sounds completely and totally off the wall then people need to hold back on the accusing. It's gotten so ridiculous...in practically every question at least one person is called a fake.
However, it doesn't take a genius to realize some of these questions and answers are coming from fakers or teens who want to answer but don't think parents will take them seriously given that they are teens and not parents themselves.
But there's not a lot we can do about it.
I agree with Desmeran. It's pretty easy to spot the phony people. Sometimes I question a few but don't know for sure. It doesn't really bother me aside from I hate to waste my time giving advice to someone who asks serious questions about fake children and then probably go off to a high school dance while I take the time to answer their fake question about their fake children.
Yeah. probably.
But you know what? When I read an answer, I read it for face value. Since I am never going to meet any of these people, I don't really care WHO they are or aren't. I only care what the typed words say.
I will admit that the familiar names do tend to get my attention a little more only because I have learned I either like or dislike their opinions.
But overall, it's all just words and if they aren't who they say they are, so what?
There are alot of fake ppl on her and crazy ppl too, hence why i have changed my name and cleared ALL but 1 of my contacts, i had almost 100 contacts and had had enough of the lies and cr#p that alot of them were giving me, i relied on this site for alot as my daughter grew but have come to realise you really cant trust too many people on here......but saying that i do know there are alot of really nice, great, helpful mothers on here that have become good friends you just have to sift through the sh#t i think :)
not really, i mean that'd be silly, i'm not out to impress anyone. just like answering and asking occasionally. i have a short attention span so i generally don't write long answers. plus most intelligent people do not follow advice given on the internet by strangers. i hope people have more in their lives than fabricating an identity on yahoo answers! hahaha
I think alot of people on here are fake. Probably almost half of them. I honestly don't understand what people get out of pretending to be someone else. They must be very lonely, very bored or mentally disturbed.
I'm real. Johnny's Mommy and Aaron's Mommy can verify as they are on my myspace and see who I am.
ETA: When I say half are fake, I mean everyone on Y!A, not just P%26amp;P.
Not sure. Haven't really given it much thought. Usually, Im thinking about whether or not i agree with what the poster is saying or if they have something to consider. Teenager or nonparent if they have a point, they have a point. That's kind of the way I look at it. I try and take it with a grain of salt.
Who knows. I'm 17 but I always be myself never pose as a parent. Some of the people who say really rude things in their answers that claim to be parents, I kind of hope aren't really parents because I'd feel sorry for their children. But who knows. You never know who anyone really is on the internet.
I know people make fake internet identities, but I think it's mostly 38 year old men pretending to be 18 year old girls. Not a teenage girl pretending to be a mom with 4 kids. I mean, who pretends to do that?
Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think THAT many people are complete phonies. I mean, you can spot a troll pretty easily. The people who are genuinely helpful though, I believe them to be honest about their experiences.
Okay Okay.. you got me.
My hands are tied. The evidence has been gathered....
I am really only 12.Okay OKAY FINEEEE I'm 11 and a HALF. What can I say??
Really, though.. yes I think there's a few. I have my suspicions.
I honestly never think of it, I'm here to pass the time with answering questions for fun. My job isn't to be CSI and determine who's fake or who's real.
I do sometimes, but I have also found that the ones who are for real give good responses, as with all things in life you have to take the good with the bad!!
I hate to even think about it! I try not to analyze it too much b/c then I feel dissappointed in this whole site. I try to just concentrate on the good and the people I know are real.
Too many to mention i would think ...come to think of it i have never seen so many people claiming to be having triplets in one place ....and all on Yahoo Answers, sad really !
I think their are several, maybe fewer than we think there are. Who really knows?
I don't know but some people sound a little fake...but you never know. I just know that I'm not :)
hmm... that's something that i've never really thought about. i guess we cannot trust everyone. :)

Why are teenagers so uninformed about politics and the world nowadays?
Speaking as a 16 year old, I am really into politics and what is happening, I really keep up with it, but about 95% of the kids I know in my school have no idea about anything happening.
Why does it seem like teens are so uninformed these days? You see how all these kids used to help train for war, raise money for wars, protest (like for Vietnam), and such, but now it is so sad.
Will it ever change?
And I don't mean tuning into hear about President Obama during the elections.
Mhm.Why are teenagers so uninformed about politics and the world nowadays?
The problem, you see, is that the kids you know are not representative of the teenage population as a whole. You're not meeting the kids who are out there living their lives... you know, the unschoolers. They are very informed about politics and many other things because they have either rediscovered or never lost their natural curiosity. It's not ';Why are teenagers so uninformed,'; it's ';why are school students so uninformed.'; Hope this helps. Good luck and bless you.Why are teenagers so uninformed about politics and the world nowadays?
I think you are quite possibly romanticizing some of the 60s and 70s era teenagers. I was a young girl in the 60s and a teen in the 70s, and I can definitely tell you that while yes, there were some teens who were definitely activists and ';political';...there were a great many more of them who were not!
My pet ';cause'; of that time was feminism and the environment (still is, come to think of it)...and yes, I bashed many an ear at that time. I can tell you from memory and experiences that a lot of those teens in my school and town were not interested in watching the news every night nor discussing current events in or out of class...and they thought I was a ';weirdo'; just because I was doing that.
Rather, most of those teens were more concerned about the stereotypical teenaged concerns such as their looks, clothes, what's ';in'; and what's ';out';, celebrities, what's happening to their bodies, their feelings re: love and sex...and when you think about it, there's really nothing wrong with that. It's a normal process.
If I had my teen years to do over again, knowing what I know now... I would probably not get so intense about politics and not be so overly serious all the time.. and I'd just learn to enjoy my teen years and have some fun and not feel so much like Atlas with the world on my shoulder and thinking I have to change the world before the end of Senior year!
Teens really should be paying attention to their studies and learning how to get along with others, and learning how to be good citizens in preparing for their lives as adults....and being a ';good citizen'; does NOT mean becoming a political junkie, a zealot or a religious fanatic who becomes skilled at losing friends and alienating people. It does not mean being a ';bore'; at social events that are meant to be fun.
I'm not saying don't be interested in politics or current events. What I'm saying is keep some perspective. Everything in moderation...when I hear someone calling someone else ';uninformed'; that tells me there's something else going on besides a genuine concern for change. IMO some people who get overly wrapped up in politics or religion for that matter and feel the need to proslytize to everyone...are sometimes just using it as an escape so as not to have to deal with their own real life personal problems and insecurities. Don't want to remind yourself you are having acne problems and you don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend or you're not in the popular crowd? Simple. Adopt a cause and immerse yourself in that to the exclusion of all else. Problem? You can't take a cause to the prom and a cause doesn't kiss you goodnight...or cure those acne pimples...nor does denying they exists by putting on the ';activist'; mask amongst your peers.
Besides, some people who think they're well informed and talking about whatever politic topic they favor infinitum ad nauseum really aren't all that well informed, either. Sometimes they are only listening to one side of the story, the one that reflects their views... and all too often, they are influenced by pundits and radio show hosts or even parents or significant others.
Now there are some people (teens included) who are surprisingly politically savvy and who can see all points of view, but you'd never know it because they don't talk about their politics to everyone with ears. When asked, they'll give a viewpoint, but they rarely initiate the discussion and if the discussion gets too heated, they move on to lighter topics.
Ever consider the possibility that some of that 95% may just be ';playing dumb'; because they don't want to be subjected to yet another diatribe?
You're only 16 once in your life, so why not lighten up a bit and have some fun? The politics will always be here...and there's no point in banging your head against the wall about thing when it comes down to brass tacks, you really can't control.
im 15 almost 16. politics bore me particularly because i dont have any need to keep up witht them. as a minor i dont have any responsibilites to society that i know. although im taking classes on government currently and theres alot more to politics than you think. half is boring and the other half is pretty fun!
I'm 20 and I'm interested in politics. I didn't really become interested until I was 15. Before I didn't really care, but I guess that's normal.
I wish younger people cared more, but like one person said, have they ever cared?
The only reason teenagers and young adults protested the Vietnam War is because they might be drafted. Now, no one is being drafted.
And no, teenagers were never into politics.
Kids these days arent attracted to anything that doesnt involve video games, tv shows, iphones, or fast paced (doesnt make any sense) information...
What all these kids need is ridalin
they dont care
Why does it seem like teens are so uninformed these days? You see how all these kids used to help train for war, raise money for wars, protest (like for Vietnam), and such, but now it is so sad.
