Teens should not be looking on the internet for jobs. If you are old enough to work and have the appropriate work permits regarding child labor, you need to go to local firms and apply in person. And if you are not old enough to work, instead of going to businesses to apply, check with your neighbors, etc, for babysitting, dogwalking, car washing, lawnmowing and other services you might perform locally.
No-one looks forward to the idea of hunting for a job, and many of us want all the help we can get. After being jobless over the past few weeks I got myself a great job after visiting the site in the box below, I work for myself, making cash from Google!!!

Do you think contraceptives should be made available to teenagers without parental consent? Why or why not?

What are the pros and cons of making contraceptives publicly available? Please answer. Thanks a lot.Do you think contraceptives should be made available to teenagers without parental consent? Why or why not?
I thk so in todays age kids are way more advanced than they were when our grandparents and parents were growing up. Kids talk to kids about sex not there parents and are curious and try it. Most kid like myself when I was that age dont feel comfortable saying mom Im interested in sex what the 101................ I see no problem with contraceptives being offerd its better than fing out that your 16 year old daughter that you had no clue about her having sex now has contracted HIV or now is pregnant. As the world advances we as parents and conservators we should to be more open minded about this subject and even try harder educating out youth about sex.Do you think contraceptives should be made available to teenagers without parental consent? Why or why not?
It already IS available to teenages w/out parental consent. You can buy condoms from the store! And birth control is available for free too for teens and they do not have to contact your parents.

If it wasn't, think of all the unwanted teen pregnancies. And if they were irresponsible enough to have unprotected sex, a lot of babies would be born to irresponsible parents not yet ready to take care of a baby.
I think they should be available without parental consent because not every teen has a relationship with their parent to be able to tell them that they are ready. If they have fear of talking to their parents about it than they most likely will go without. And in order to prevent they will need them. It's not always the right choice but you have to think how teens these days think. But if they have to have parental consent than it may help the teen and parent so that the parent may be aware and talk to their teen about it.
    yes and no

yes because obviously there would be about a million less teen pregnancys

no because some women have blood clots run in there family and if a teen doesnt know her family history and she gets a blood clot from the hormones it can very quickly move to the lungs and kill her.
not all teens have an open/cool relationship with their parents. some parents refuse to talk about sex with their children or simply believe they wont be fooling around because they are ';teens';. so I believe it SHOULD BE available no matter what.
There are no cons! The kids are going to have sex no matter what the parents want or think, so if they don't want to be grandparents or have their kids getting sexual diseases, then they better WANT birth control available or they are just CRAZY!
You can buy contraceptives over the counter. I'm against this because teens shouldn't be having sex that early. They can't take care of themselves, let alone another baby.
they are available without parental consent

i'm personally not for or against it it really depends on the maturity of the individual
They are available without parental consent. And if more people used them we wouldn't have so many ';omg am I pregnant'; questions.
Contraceptives are available to teens without parental consent....
    they are publicly available.
Absolutely... teenagers don't get parental consent to have sex...

Is youth group a really good place for Christian teenagers?

I would like any answer and any source you can give me for something to present to my father. Is youth group a really good place for Christian teenagers?
Yes definitely. You can enjoy a lot of fun activities, meet lots of nice people, and learn about God!Is youth group a really good place for Christian teenagers?
It has its pros and cons. One of the major bonuses is that it helps give a teenager a group of peers to hold them accountable for their actions as well as a steady group of friends to be there when they need them.

A negative thing that I experienced in youth group, and it was a major factor in my leaving it behind altogether, is that teenagers are always comparing their strengths against one another and this situation is no different. One girl would say I was backsliding because I didn't come one week and the same girl was snorting chemicals. Kids tend to think they have, like, God's Holy Finger attached to their hand, and they point it at others for their weaknesses when they shouldn't.

I found this to be really discouraging and it made me self-conscious. Anything that leads an already self-conscious teenager to feel worse about them self can be sort of a detriment.
As long as it is a Christian youth group with appropriate supervision.

So, who runs it, what job do they have, are they responsible? What activities are going on? When and where are the activities? Who do you know that would go with you? Why do you want to go? Why not consider these questions and pray about it. If you are still feeling positive about it, talk with your father. I've heard good things about the Christian Young Life group.
I currently attend LDS Seminary every morning, as well as a LDS youth group on Wednesdays. It's a very positive thing for me, and helps me stay on track throughout the week.

I'm sure all Christian youth groups no matter what denomination are a positive thing. They'll often have you get involved in the community, and might give you the chance to study the Bible as a group.
It depends on the group, naturally, and the leaders of that group. If the BIble is clearly taught and followed, yes. If the leaders think youth group is just a club for Christian kids to have fun so they don't hang out with the wrong crowd, it's no better than chess club (or whatever) at school.
It is only good if the spirit of God is with you. If the Lord's Word is not being studied or practiced, you give yourselves unto mischief of the heart and body, you give yourselves unto worldly desires and not spiritual desires. Care nothing for the things of men but rather the things of God. Trust in Him for He will be with you unto the end.

May the Lord bless you and keep you always.
In most cases, yes! It's good to get out with some kids who have something constructive on their minds. If you have a good youth leader, you might be doing some good work in the community. My girls used to love youth group. They'd come home with the best stories of the fun times they had delivering groceries to old folks, going on some trips just for their own fun, outdoor stuff. It was great.
I had a lot of fun hanging out with my friends who were in a youth group; I was sort of a hanger-on. We had parties, took trips, and just had a lot of fun. I don't regret any of it.
I was forced into these as a teen and I wasn't impressed. There weren't talks or debates about religion or religious texts; all I saw was the youth pastor going out for smoke breaks and teens to hook up and screw around in the empty rooms.
For me it is. I heard some other youth groups and i get very different opinions about each one.
No. You kids should be out there doing drugs and having unprotected sex.
    YES
depends on whta they are doing...but in general yes it can be helpful.

How did some teenagers start drinking?

I need someone that really drinks I need to have a chat with the person. Will really appreciate this ThanksHow did some teenagers start drinking?
okay 1m 19 i ask my friends who are over 21 to get somw 4 me plus i have a cousin and my dad buys me beer and liquor when im with him.How did some teenagers start drinking?
i have to disagree with the whole 'alcoholism is hereditary'. That's merely your opinion, person who answered with that, not a fact. just cause someone in your family drinks, doesn't mean that you will too. and i speak from experience.

but to answer your question, it was just the fun sneaking around and being naughty drinking thing that started some of me and my friends off - like smoking behind the bike sheds. I wouldn't say it was escapism, as it was social drinking - but some could use 'social drinking' as a mask for a true problem.. i think we all used drink as a mask so we could be a bit more silly or do things we wouldn't have dared do without the dutch courage. But there's a difference between silly experimental teenage drinking and serious teenage drinking. I'm from a european country where you could rink a beer in a bar at 16, so teenage drinking isn't considered as serious there as it might in say america.. we just got over the whole student type drinking a lot younger.
i do.what do you need to know?
from experience, it is true that alcoholism is a hereditary thing, so some teens, just experiment that one time with friends then something triggers that disease, also some are having issues with divorced parents, maybe opposite sex, or being made fun of at school, so they try drinking and realize when they are drunk they laugh and they feel numb so its better than feeling sad, hurt etc., if your a parent of a teenaged alcoholic just be there for them, do not put down
ALL teenagers that start drinking start the same way

take the beverage, and put it to their lips and pour or start sucking through a straw

What do you think of over sheltered children as teenagers ?

When i say over sheltered i mean the parents don't let them go out unless they are with them or know the person personally, and how would you think they would act as a adult ?What do you think of over sheltered children as teenagers ?
they will turn out to be perfect kids................................... who are psychoWhat do you think of over sheltered children as teenagers ?
A major job of parents IS to protect their children - it is vital that they supervise (not smother) their children.

We need to protect our kids so that by the time they are 18 years old they have not been pregnant (or got anyone pregnant), are not addicted to drugs, have not been arrested, have never been drunk.

It is important that while you are protecting them, that you have frank discussions about those things, you can't leave them in the dark about all the nasty stuff in the world, but it is your job to help them learn how to avoid being contaminated by it all.

EDIT: Wow, I get thumbs down for raising great, clean, hard-working, non-drug taking, sober kids - must be some dopey people on here tonight!
These children typically don't develop self control and become overly permiscuous or extreme partiers once they go away to college or move out for any other reason. However, they can also develop the other extreme personality trait which is to withdraw completely since they don't know how to function without their parents around. Parents need to realize that their children, at an appropriate age of course, (most believe this to be at the time they can drive) need to venture out and have their own experiences. It not only builds confidence in the child, but opens doors to other life experiences.
I kind of pity them, but also know that most people grow up fine, no matter what their past. They become adults and adapt as necessary.

One person I knew had no curfew, was allowed to go around the city at all hours at 16. Another person, highly sheltered, absolutely no dating allowed until age 18. Both turned out fine, although the second was marginally more successful in life, I'd say.
im in that same situation and i think that what will happen is the parent will make the teen not want to be around them when they get older. the teen will get a taste of freedom oneday and when they become adults the parents will still try to hold on to them tightly, give them no freedom and monitor every little thing they do and they will rebel. the parents will try to discipline then and still tell them what to do, but it wont work. then the parents will be very upset, but when they should've been letting them get freedom they weren't.
Usually over sheltered kids rebel, like they don't listen so the parents loose control over them. Every person is different so either the over sheltered person could be wild, or could be the same way as theyre parents. It all depends. Generilization is difficult for this question.
they need to be kids and breath and trusting is the way too go sheltering them is going to have them not wanting to get into sports or hang around friends or not Knowing how to hold a conversation!!!!! you need trust and you need to let go they need freedom!!!!!!!!!!! if they are old enough get them sell phones so you can see how you can trust them!!!!!!!!!!
kids who have over protective parents, always get reckless and do things their own way when they become teenagers, they're tired of following rules, and getting bossed around. You wont be able to shelter them then.
i think being too over sheltered is bad but not good to be under sheltered either
My hubby was over sheltered and he turned out fine.
I dont think theyll be able to live on their own because of their past.

What parks should teenagers go to when going to disney world?

We are going there for summer vacation...it's not all kid stuff is it?What parks should teenagers go to when going to disney world?
I think all the parks are suitable for all age groups. You often see people from 0 to 100 there and a lot of older ones dont even have the excuss that they are there with children lOl

My teenages go to all of them and especially the quest in downtown disney which is like a huge virtual theme park. i am sure you will love that.

Dont think of it as kids stuff. Just sit back and enjoy this excellent experienceWhat parks should teenagers go to when going to disney world?
I recently went to Disney this summer for my 6th time and I was 14 and had fun on all rides, for little kids and adults. Go to all of the parks but if you are only looking for specific try reading this to see what you like:

In Magic Kingdom, go on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, The Haunted Mansion, It's A Small World (it's a CLASSIC), Snow White's Adventures, and many more.

In Epcot, go on Soarin, Test Track, Mission Space, and Honey I Shrunk the Audience 3-D. Also, visit the World Showcase.

In Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, and this dinosaur ride.

And finally, at MGM, the Movie Ride, Rock 'N Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and more.

Even the little rides will be alot of fun because it will remind you of when you were younger! And it's Disney World so it's just really magical lol.

Have fun, I love Disney! :D
No it's not all kids stuff so don't worry. I'm a teen and went a couple of years ago when I was 15 (and I'm going again later this year) and I had a blast! Go to all the parks, since they all have fun rides for teens. Magic Kingdom has Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Thunder Mountain Railroad. There is other fun stuff there too. Epcot has the thrill ride Mission: SPACE, Soarin', Test Track, and others. Animal Kingdom has the thrill ride Dinosaur and Expedition Everest. And my favorite, MGM Studios, has the thrill rides Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. The parks also have great shows too, that aren't all for kids. Have fun! Don't worry though, you will.
Eric, I agree with those who say go to all the parks, because even if your kids are picky, there are definitely teen-thrilling rides at each park.

I also agree with those who say try everything if you have time, because you never know when a ';kid'; ride might secretly--or not so secretly!--thrill yours!

If you don't have time for everything, and need to edit, this page highlights what older kids and adults tend to like vs what really little kids like:http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-鈥?/a>

    Have a great time! Dave
No way! There's at least four roller coasters, some more intense than others, a ride that drops you thirteen stories, a water ride that drops you five stories, a G-force simulation ride (you ';ride'; to Mars!), a stunt show that shows you how Hollywood does car stunts, awesome shows (some are even Broadway type), and they have some of the best firework shows ever.

As for parks, Magic Kingdom has two of those roller coasters and the water ride. EPOCT has the G-force simulation ride. Hollywood Studios has one awesome roller coaster, the 13-story drop ride, and the stunt show. Animal Kingdom has a roller coaster. There are shows in every park (I prefer Mikey's PhilharMagic, It's Tough to Be a Bug, Fantasmic, and Beauty and the Beast Live). Magic Kingdom has the best firework show (in my opinion), but EPCOT has a really good one as well.

Note: If you're new to Disney, don't get confused and think there's 5 main parks. There's only 4! Disney-MGM Studios was renamed as Disney Hollywood Studios in January of this year. Disney has no affiliation with MGM, which is why they changed the name of the park.
Get Park Hopper tickets and hit them all. Research the parks and make a list of your must do rides and go and have a great time. I suggest the following:

AK - Everest, Kali River Rapids and Dinosaur

MK - the triple mountains (Space, Splash, Thunder Railroad)

Epcot - Soarin, Mission Space %26amp; Test Track

Studios - Tower %26amp; Rockin Roller Coaster

Once you have done the must do rides, go back and hit a few shows especially at Studios such as Indiana Jones, Fantasmic and Lights, Motor, Action.

The water parks are a blast especially for teens which will love Crushin Gusher at Typhoon and Summit Plummit at Blizzard. Disney Quest is also a great place for teens with some of the best games and attractions. Tops for me is building my own coaster and then going for a simulated ride. You will need to add the water parks fun and more package which includes both water parks, Disney Quest and Pleasure Island.

Disney does have a lot of kid stuff but even at 34 I enjoy riding them as well as my 40 year old brother. Such classics such as the Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan's Flight are great. Even taking a spin on Dumbo is quite classic.

Have a great time and don't worry about it being too much for kids. Disney has something for everyone. Have a wonderful trip....
I agree with the other answer...just go and have a good time, ,even on the kiddie stuff. You don't realize how much fun you can really have.

However, HollyWood Studios offers 2 ';bigger'; thrill rides. They are Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster. If you are interested in other thrill rides in Orlando (not Disney), then you may want to consider going to Universal's Islands of Adventure.
I would say go to ALL the Disney parks!! But that is just me, I absolutely LOVE Disney World. (btw, I am 45 and my son is 27, and he loves going there, too!)

My most important advice would be to not ';judge'; a ride or attraction before you try it!! One of my fondest memories is of my first time at Disney World (many moons ago). My husband, son and I went with my sister and her husband. It was August and extremely HOT! We wanted to go on something (I can't even remember what it was), but it had a very long line. Across the way was ';Mr. Toad's Wild Ride'; (no longer there, I am sorry to say) I suggested that we go on that ride because there was no line. My sister didn't want to because she said it was ';silly';. I told her I just wanted to sit down and get out of the sun. Well, we went on that ride. My husband, son (who was 5 at the time) and I went on first, followed in the next car by my sister and her husband. They laughed so hard that they nearly peed their pants!! For years later they told everyone what a fun ride that was! Yet, they had never gone on it because it ';looked silly';.

Besides, even if something looks silly, (and you end up looking silly, too) who cares? You are in Disney World!! Just have fun!!
you should go to ALL of them- there are lots of things for teens to do at every park.... and, believe it or not, teens have lots of laughs and fun going on the ';kiddie'; rides and reliving their ';younger'; years, too! Just go and have a good time!
No it is not Kid stuff Disney World is sooooooo much fun! you should go to all the parks, you will defiantly find something to do in each park. Have fun=]
If you are going to pay admission on a daily entrance for only 2 or 3 days I would skip magic kingdom it is nice but geared fo the younger set.WE just returned from there and took the little ones.
I am 25 and had fun on all of the parks..
All! I'm in my 30s and still love Disney World.
No way!!!! Go to Hollywood Studios there are roller coasters and cute guys :-)

  • What does Korean teenagers always do during their free time?

What types of leisure activities are they in Korea? How do they spend their free time? What does Korean teenagers always do during their free time?
They do alot of simlilar activites like the Americans except for one thing. Korean people seem to spend more time at Hagwons to learn either more about a language, etc. You find lots of boys playing sports {basketball, soccer} at a court. They do hang out with their friends, go watch a movie, shop with their friends. For most kids though, they do spend alot of time at hagwons. Besides that, they spend time on the computer doing cyworld {a Korean site like myspace except in my opinion cuter and much better} and just chatting. Really, they are no different from American kids. What does Korean teenagers always do during their free time?
Free time is limited, as having been said by previous posters discussing education.

Boys spend alot of their time in the PC Bang (Computer Cafe) playing starcraft, warcraft etc. Just visit the place on a Saturday afternoon straight after the schools get out and you will see! They play baseball, soccer, basketball, and just hang out.

Girls, I see hanging out in the park, or at each others homes blogging etc.

And yes they do other things too, go to the mall, see a movie etc too.

OH, these are what South Koreans do. I have no idea what North Koreans do.
In Korea they have significantly less free time. After school is generally spent in a Hagwan or after school academy. Learning english, a musical instrument, or just preparing for tests.

Also they start learning to drink.
well the school system takes ALOT of their time. they are much more focused on school than in america. they do regular things tho, go to movies, shopping...
    karyoke
    They people you know
Well, usually Korean teenagers study. Once you get into High School, you study very hard usually. The competition is very rough in Korea. And they have much less free time than the people in America.

Well the leisure activities usually are the computer, hanging out with their friends and normal things like us.

They also have many many internet cafes, spas and kareokes.

it's much cheaper and is seen everywhere you look. So many people go there during their free time.

School is longer and most take extra lessons like tutoring. They usually also take an extra curricular activity like learning an instrument. Most schools also have activities after school and many people stay.
    maybe basketball, stdudying?, watching tv

its exactly same as people like us.
    In order of frequency:

    sleep

    read a book

    watch TV

    play computer games

    listen to music

    see a movie

What things are important to school-age children and teenagers?

I'm writing an essay on lack of values in schools. I'm looking for examples. They can be materialistic, like a first grader wanting a Louis Vuitton bag or a 14-year-old who wants $160 highlights for her hair? But I would also like to know what values young people think are important. Thanks in adavance! What things are important to school-age children and teenagers?
My 9 year old wants friends that don't suck, to be a veterinarian, to skip a grade, to get more dogs, and to play more hockey. She's a smart hockey playing dog lover, but I think generally it is all the same. Kids want what their friends have, want friends that are generally seen as cool [or interesting], and hate to be bored. The kids that have everything want more of the same [just more expensive] and the kids that have nothing mostly want the basics. My daughter hates to see other people hurt, but seems more offended by violence towards animals then violence towards people. A boy can punch another boy and she said ';they had a fight';. But someone kicks a dog and she will actually cry.

However my 7 year old wants her hair dyed red, and to wear pink every day. She doesn't watch commercial tv, and isn't overly spoiled or materialistic. Her favorite teachers aid has red hair and so does her favorite daycare teacher. And she happens to really like pink. But her beautiful long blond hair will never never be dyed red!!! :) I think the older kids get the more their value system goes from looking up to people in authority, to looking up to peers. What things are important to school-age children and teenagers?
The generation we live in is all about materialism and popularity. Although many still value friendship.
Ever wonder did they master our creator's universal gifts of life with God fearing words in planet of apes?

Look around how they master ghostly kitchen's ghost stories and ghostly modern history - his ghostly stories - of failures and horrors of the past in ghostly kitchen's dialect from the graveyards of different ancestor's custom in planet of apes.

With time all The Mummy risen from the graveyards of different ancestor's custom scaring the hell and living daylights out of living human kind with The Mummy with two hands stretching out

eerily wailing in ghostly kitchen's dialect blindly searching the way back to their early graves living in misery with total loss to our creator universal gifts of life vital for their own survival and advancement of themselves in planet of apes.

At loss and blurr they were surviving and running of batteries living in misery in planet of apes.

Ever wonder who were kicking the butts of their own children and living human kind born and raised after independence in planet of apes?
school materials , love from parents n money to buy wad they wan
All of those material desires really aren't about things, they're about peer acceptance. It's natural for children to want to fit in. One cannot fit in if one's peers consider one outside of the norm.
Hi. Just a thought - I just watched a Diane Sawyer 20/20 special called ';Waiting on the World to Change'; about Camden, NJ. If you are not familar with Camden, it is the poorest city in the U.S. and has been called Murder City, USA. Anyway, 10 minutes away from Camden is the picture perfect town of Moorestown with it's mature trees and flowers everywhere, beautiful houses with big front porches and young children who want to grow up to be CEO's like their dads. Anyway, something that really moved me in the story was when Diane asked like 5 of the kids (aged 4-8 maybe) from Camden if they have anything they wanted what would it be? Ok, so I'm totally expecting toys and X-box and Barbies and, you know, normal kid stuff. Yeah, shows how ignorant I am!!! These little children want a house and curtains for their mamas, and bread cause their hungry and one asked for a stove. I cried. It was really eye opening for me.

Now another thing to point out - Diane also asked kids from both Camden and Moorestown what they wanted to be when they grew up and the answers were similar - Superman, a doctor, a vet. (Now, yes, one little kid from Moorestown did say that he wanted to be a CEO) So, even though they have vastly different lives dreams are not so different in the eyes of a child.

If you are interested try going to 20/20's website and they might the show on there. I know Dateline does that. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck on your essay!

Can YA start a new section for abortion and teenagers who need sex education?

Anyone else sick of 14 year olds saying';can I get pregnant if he pulls out?'; or'; Am I pregnant?'; and lots of abortion questions, especially when you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant? Can YA start a new section for abortion and teenagers who need sex education?
They certainly could, why don't you recommend it to them. Yahoo Answers welcomes user input and has been known to allow users to effect change. Here's the link to the YA Suggestions forum: http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=answe鈥?/a>

I do find the repeated ';am i pregnant'; questions to be quite annoying due to their frequency, but what annoys me more is the clear lack of education these girls and women have. It's very sad to me that a girl can be sexually active yet know nothing of her menstrual cycle except that she gets a period from time to time. And it makes me very sad that these girls don't know about birth control options because their education has excluded it in favour of abstinence-only ';education';. And it makes me sad that the only influences in their lives preach a pro-life stance based on lies. These girls more than anyone else need to be able to ask their questions on this forum and receive answers to help them make more informed decisions.

Abortion questions absolutely belong in the pregnancy section, because, well, the obvious-you have to be pregnant to have an abortion. I don't see why this would be upsetting to anyone who is pregnant or trying to conceive, it's not like they want to abort your pregnancy, they're asking questions for themselves, and you don't have to click on that question or answer it.Can YA start a new section for abortion and teenagers who need sex education?
I second the sex education!! I am so appalled by the lack of knowledge and education in our young people today.

NO!! You cannot get pregnant through oral sex! Yes! You can get pregnant if you did it doggie style. If you had sex yesterday, I CANNOT TELL YOU IF YOU ARE PREGNANT!! Neither can a test or anyone else for that matter!! Wait until you miss your period and then take a test!
I'm not sick of them. Atleast they are asking somewhere.

Maybe Y!A should make you go through sex education before you can play on Y!A. but then again, most of the adults on Y!A already have adequate sex education.

Teach your kids about sex so they dont become one of them.
I get tired of it. I think the pregnancy area should be for people asking question about pregnancy and not sex education or abortion questions. I understand that these teens need this information, but the pregnancy section isn't really for how you get pregnant.
I agree... there should be separate sections, especially because a lot of these kids are getting misguided and it's really sad to hear about people who want to end their pregnancies while others are trying to conceive or super excited about getting pregnant!
    I completely agree. Thank you

What is a good cruise line to for two teenagers?

My family wants to go on a cruise. My mom and dad and me(13) and my cousin(15). We want something that has many activites for us. I went on a Royal Carribbean cruise last year and it was fun and had alot of stuff for teenagers, but will we get split up because of our age? What is a good cruise line to for two teenagers?
Adventure Ocean is a complimentary program of fun and educational activities open to all our junior cruisers, ages 3-11 Children are separated by age, and will have an opportunity to learn about local customs, perform cool science experiments, and make great new friends. Our 12-14 and 15-17 Teen groups give them the freedom to come and go as they please for sports, themed parties, movie nights and more. Teens can also meet up and chill out in the laid-back Living Room lounge, or cut loose at Fuel, our teen-only nightclub.

don't worry you will to be able to hang out with your cousin . when i went on i wasa 12 %26amp; i was hanging out with 16 year olds on there and it was a blast !What is a good cruise line to for two teenagers?
I'm going on a Carnival cruise in a couple of weeks and, while I'm not taking my kids, there is a TON of stuff for kids on the cruise. It doesn't list every activity but if you go to their website (www.carnival.com) you can see a sampling of what they have for kids. It specifies age groups and I don't think you will get split up. It looked like they have dance clubs and 'bar' looking things but without the alcohol so you can dance, do karaoke, and have fun like the 'big kids' (that's me) do but also there are water features (slides, waterfalls, pools) just for the kids so you don't have to worry about old people yelling at you. Go look at the site and see what they have to do!
You'll be split up into two groups for the Fuel club. Then again, it won't efet things much. Older kids get to stay an hour or so later at Fuel, although I believe The Living Room will stay open to all. There are a few activities that sepearte by age group, but there are also some with multiple age groups. It won't matter to much in the long run, as you still have all the other ship activities, plus full access to Fuel/The Living Room for most of the day.

I agree with the raging hillbilly. Don't be a clone, be an individual. Use whatever you think is the most comfortable and will do the best job for you.

There's nothing worse than somebody who spends a ton of money on the most fashionable or most popular gear (just to ';fit in'; or ';look cool';), but then they can't ski worth a sh*t. Don't be one of ';those'; people.

I'm an expert skier and my ski pants are taped up with duct tape. They are about 10 years old. And I bought my jacket at a ski show a few years ago for 75% off. I let my skiing ability do the talking for me, not my outfit.

Good luck and have fun in BC!
Check out burton, very popular stuff especially for the park.

Like teens rather have it down in writing so they dont forget.

So im guessing that the audio percentage of teens is farely low. i would say

27% of teens are audio learners.

Does anyone know of any good resources for educating teenagers about disability?

An issue came up with my first year (age 12-13) social activities class in school regarding disabilities and especially their attitude towards people with disability. Now I know all the technical data (I have a younger sister who has Down's Syndrome and have been involved in a lot of volunteer disability groups) but I'm looking for some resources or worksheets to make this accessible to the group that I'm teaching now and especially concerning attitude and prejudice towards people with a disability.

borrow a wheel chair for a day make each student spend an hour of their day in it.

you could also cover one of their eyes or both. ears can be done by playing white noise through a portable steer.

the students must try to follow their usual routine for that hour.

    16,'; said nutritionist Jacqueline Baumrind. ';Now you have kids 12 or 13 drinking coffee. Sometimes they don't have time to eat breakfast or lunch, and they'll have a cup of coffee to keep their energy up - especially girls trying to lose weight: Coffee and a cigarette, that's breakfast. When you're a growing teenager, you need nutrition.';

While market analysis firms do not track coffee consumption for youths younger than 18, the percentage of 18- to 24-year-olds who drink coffee every day has doubled since 2003, from 16 percent to 31 percent, according to the National Coffee Association.

One of Rivera's classmates, Mischa Patel, estimated that 80 percent or 90 percent of their class drinks a coffee beverage at least occasionally.

';I have fourth- and fifth-graders that do drink coffee in the morning sometimes coming to school when parents have not been able to provide (an) appropriate breakfast,'; said Judith Mullane, the president of the New Jersey State School Nurses Association.

Just visit any coffeehouse on a weekday afternoon or a Saturday evening and say hello to groups of kids, some years younger than Rivera, enjoying a Frappuccino. Or stop by a high school cafeteria - many of which offer brewed coffee for sale - during exam time and watch as tired teens buy cups of hazelnut coffee in an effort to ace that math test.

    ';Three times a week, I get Coffee Coolattas'; from Dunkin' Donuts, said one eighth-grader. ';It wakes me up.';

Much attention has been paid in recent years to the nutritional dangers of excessive consumption of soda and energy drinks. In New Jersey, a law passed earlier this year calls for public schools to serve only milk, juice and water to elementary school children. In middle and high schools, 60 percent of all beverages served must be milk, juice or water.

Most parents wouldn't dream of giving their kids a toasty cup of coffee, but they may routinely serve soft drinks containing caffeine. Although it's likely that your child will ingest caffeine at some time, it's a good idea to keep caffeine consumption to a minimum, especially in younger children.

Although the United States hasn't yet developed guidelines for caffeine intake and kids, Canadian guidelines recommend that preschool children get no more than 45 milligrams of caffeine a day. That's equivalent to the average amount of caffeine found in a 12-ounce (355-milliliter) can of soda or four 1.5-ounce (43-gram) milk chocolate bars.

What's Caffeine and How Does It Affect Kids?

A stimulant that affects children and adults similarly, caffeine is a drug that's naturally produced in the leaves and seeds of many plants. Caffeine is also made artificially and added to certain foods. Caffeine is defined as a drug because it stimulates the central nervous system. At lower levels, caffeine can make people feel more alert and like they have more energy.

In both kids and adults, too much caffeine can cause:

    * jitteriness and nervousness

    * upset stomach

    * headaches

    * difficulty concentrating

    * difficulty sleeping

    * increased heart rate

    * increased blood pressure

Especially in young children, it doesn't take a lot of caffeine to produce these effects.

Other reasons to limit kids' caffeine consumption include:

    * Consuming one 12-ounce (355-milliliter) sweetened soft drink per day increases a child's risk of obesity by 60%.

    * Not only do caffeinated beverages contain empty calories (calories that don't provide any nutrients), but kids who fill up on them don't get the vitamins and minerals they need from healthy sources, putting them at risk for developing nutritional deficiencies. In particular, children who drink too much soda (which usually starts between the third and eighth grades) may miss getting the calcium they need from milk to build strong bones and teeth.

    * Drinking too many sweetened caffeinated drinks could lead to dental cavities (or caries) from the high sugar content and the erosion of the enamel of the teeth from the acidity. Not convinced that sodas can wreak that much havoc on kids' teeth? Consider this: One 12-ounce (355-milliliter) nondiet, carbonated soft drink contains the equivalent of 10 teaspoons of sugar (49 milliliters) and 150 calories.

    * Caffeine is a diuretic that causes the body to eliminate water (through urinating), which may contribute to dehydration. Caffeine may be an especially poor choice in hot weather, when children need to replace water lost through perspiration.

    * Abruptly stopping caffeine may cause withdrawal symptoms (headaches, muscle aches, temporary depression, and irritability), especially for those who are used to consuming a lot.

    * Caffeine can aggravate heart problems or nervous disorders, and some children may not be aware that they're at risk.

One thing that caffeine doesn't do is stunt growth. Although scientists once worried that caffeine could hinder a child's growth, this concern isn't supported by research.

Which Foods and Beverages Contain Caffeine?

Although kids get most of their caffeine from sodas, it's also found in coffee, tea, chocolate, coffee ice cream or frozen yogurt, as well as pain relievers and other over-the-counter medicines. Some parents may give their children iced tea in place of soda, thinking that it's a better alternative. But iced tea can contain as much sugar and caffeine as soda.

Here's how some sources of caffeine compare:

Item Amount of Item Amount of Caffeine

Jolt soft drink 12 ounces 71.2 mg

Mountain Dew 12 ounces 55.0 mg

    Coca-Cola 12 ounces 34.0 mg

Diet Coke 12 ounces 45.0 mg

    Pepsi 12 ounces 38.0 mg

    7-Up 12 ounces 0 mg

brewed coffee (drip method) 5 ounces 115 mg*

iced tea 12 ounces 70 mg*

dark chocolate 1 ounce 20 mg*

milk chocolate 1 ounce 6 mg*

cocoa beverage 5 ounces 4 mg*

    What's Caffeine Sensitivity?

Caffeine sensitivity refers to the amount of caffeine that will produce an effect in someone. This amount varies from person to person. On average, the smaller the person, the less caffeine necessary to produce side effects. However, caffeine sensitivity is most affected by the amount of daily caffeine use. People who regularly drink beverages containing caffeine soon develop a reduced sensitivity to caffeine. This means they require higher doses of caffeine to achieve the same effects as someone who doesn't drink caffeinated drinks every day. So, the more caffeine your child takes in, the more caffeine he or she will need to feel the same effects.

In addition to being more susceptible to the effects of caffeine based on size, small children are more sensitive to caffeine because they haven't been exposed to it as much as older children or adults. Caffeine moves through the body within a few hours after it's consumed and is then passed through the urine. It's not stored in the body, but your child may feel its effects for up to 6 hours if he or she is sensitive to it.

Cutting Caffeine Out of the Equation

Can you help your child conquer caffeine? Absolutely! The best way to cut caffeine (and added sugar) from your child's diet is to eliminate soda. Instead, offer water, milk, flavored seltzer, and 100% fruit juice. For added convenience, give your child water in squeeze bottles to carry around. Of course, you can still serve the occasional soda or tea - just make it caffeine free. And be on the lookout for hidden caffeine by checking the ingredient list on foods and beverages.

For older kids or teens who may be getting more caffeine than they should, it's important to watch their caffeine consumption. If your teen has taken up a coffee-drinking habit, one cup a day can easily turn into several (as most adults know), especially if your teen is using coffee to stay awake during late-night study sessions.

The best way to reduce your child's caffeine intake is to cut back slowly. Otherwise, he or she could get headaches and feel achy, depressed, or just downright lousy. Try cutting your child's caffeine consumption by substituting noncaffeinated drinks for caffeinated sodas and coffee (water, caffeine-free sodas, and caffeine-free teas). Keep track of how many caffeinated drinks your child has each day, and substitute one drink per week with a caffeine-free alternative until he or she has gotten below the 100-milligram mark.

As you're cutting back the caffeine, your child may feel tired. The best bet is for your child to hit the sack, not the sodas: It's just your child's body's way of saying that more rest is necessary. Don't worry - your child's energy levels will return to normal in a few days.

And feel free to let your child indulge in a sliver of chocolate cake at birthday parties or a cup of tasty hot cocoa on a cold day - these choices don't pack enough caffeine punch to be harmful. As with everything, moderation is the key to keeping your kid's caffeine consumption under control.

Why is Charlie Chaplin important to the lives of Teenagers ?

In other words, why do we need to know about him? This is important because I have a presentation on him tomorrow and all I have so far is:

He sculpted the motion picture industry and made comedy more enjoyable.

Without him, we might not have known the true meaning of comedy.

Is there anything else :( ?Why is Charlie Chaplin important to the lives of Teenagers ?
Knowing him adds to your sarcastic references, like if someone looks like him and you dont want to use a hitler one.

Does anyone know any good books for tweens and teenagers?

Cause I've read all my books and I need new books. I already have the twilight saga and percy jackson and the olympians. I like romantic comedies like the boys next door that I checked out at the library and can't find it anywhere. Anyway, I need a new good book to read. Any suggestions?Does anyone know any good books for tweens and teenagers?
I like the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. It's basically about a reluctant teenage spy (aged 14) who is recruited in MI6, it doesn't have much romance in it, although in the third book it touched on it lightly, introducing a possible girlfriend for Alex.

There is also the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. It starts off with a teenage criminal boy who finds out about fairies who are way ahead of technology than humans. Again, it doesn't have much romance in it, although there are hints throughout the series (especially the latest one, The Time Paradox)

Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld is also quite good (it's also a series). Its about how 16 year olds in this futuristic city have to undertake surgery to become a 'pretty'. And how the main character is blackmailed in selling her friend by going to the Smoke, which is a place where so-called ';Uglies'; who don't wish to undertake the operation escape to. It touches on romance more than the above two series, but it isn't really just about romance.

There's also the sweet valley high series by francine pascal (I might have gotten the author's spelling wrong), it's old but still a good read. Basically about these twins who live in sweet valley. Most of it is about romance, but again, it's not the whole story.

Hope this helps :PDoes anyone know any good books for tweens and teenagers?

  • What are some good communication techniques to use with teenagers?

I really wish it was easy to talk to my teenager but it seems the more I do the worse it gets. I try to listen and give advice but she ends up doing the opposite of what I tell her at least its been the trend over the last two months. Yeah we can try therapy and anti-depressants but I would like to try something else first. What are some good communication techniques to use with teenagers?
Always be honest. They have friends/internet/etc. that they will immediately go to to see if you are telling the truth about the topic. Tell them that you have complete unconditional love for them and you have their best interests in mind but you will not condone all of their behavior or actions. Pick your battles; you do not want the communication to end between you and your teenager(s). Even if what they are doing is very bad in your judgement you cannot lose the communication. If you do, you truly have no idea what they are doing and that is much worse. Again, unconditional love, but that does not mean condoning or not commenting on their poor behavior/life choiees. Remember, their friends are the most powerful assets and/or liabilities during this time of development. What are some good communication techniques to use with teenagers?
JUST TACKLE THE THINGS CAREFULLY AND IN LOVING WAYS.
Good for you for listening to your daughter. Keep doing it. Two months is not a vast amount of time, though. Be patient and keep listening.
dont give advice. leave her alone for a little while actualy. she'll probaby want to alteast tell you what her problem is at that ppoint.....dont try anti depressents. she'll probaby hate you for that. and feel worse.

now, i am a teenager. i'm 13. but i can see how you ACTUALY care. I would want my mom to talk. but she wont. Maybe your daughter feels your smothering her.
try to be a gud frnd of her first..

try spending some gud time wid her.. like goin some place out which she likes(eg-for a movie or sth u will ve to find tat out )

avoid giving too many advices for some time(but if atall tats needed let her dad do tat job for a while)

give her some respect(obviously only to the extent its needed )

ask for her opinion on some important matters (see how she reacts to tat..cuz some people dont like to be asked too many questions.. so go forward wid this only if she takes inerest in giving her opinion )..

avoid askin too many personal questions though (i mean give her some space atleast for some time now.. cuz u r sayin tat she is takin things in opposite way of wat u say from last 2 months) so give her some time.. but always keep an eye on her..

it may take some time so ve patience.. be as loving n caring as u r .. n things will surely get better soon

its not going to be easy for sure.. u would need a lot of patience..if u make one mistake the wheel will go back to where it started from.. so control ur anger n hold up ur advices as mother for a lil while ..let her dad do tat thing

once u feel she has come lil closer to u then u can talk to her(talkin to her now is all useless.. u ve waited for 2 months ..see if u can wait for another few days ).. try to understand her .. may be she is stressed up wid some other prob which is showin up in ur relation.. but dont hurry up in askin tat to her.. u will kno wen to ask .. make her feel comfortable wid u first..

hey i would like to add one more thing here.. if atall nothing works out ur way then u can use a lil bit of senti too.. i mean sit wid her.. jus u 2 alone.. n tell her tat u tried talkin to her n undersatnd her but failed.. n tat u r feeling real bad for tat.. (hope u r getting my point)

but use it only after everything fails..

k.. hope things get better for u soon ..gud luck
Have a ';conversation'; with them. Don't dictate. Ask questions and show genuine interest. Don't do all the talking and do more listening. Remember, teens don't like to be told what to do. So you need to give them advice that doesn't sound like advice... If you can get them to come up with the answers themselves by asking what they think is reasonable in a situation, sometimes they'll surprise you.

Also, remember, it's their job to test the waters so to speak at their age. Sometimes they need to make their own mistakes. So, within reason, let them find out for themselves. But don't gloat when they make a mistake.

The best you can do is show them right and wrong and leave the rest to them. You can't stop them from doing some things. They'll just do it behind your back. Teach them that there are always choices in life and that it's important to make good choices. And that there are consequences to poor choices.

    I hope this helps.

Why do all teenagers appear to look the same?

Why has the mall become the only place to shop for teenagers? I have never understood it. Why would you buy something that millions of other people are wearing? I thought the idea was to look interesting not the same as all of the other teens. Do any of you like thrift, vintage or homemade clothes? Why do all teenagers appear to look the same?
It's an unwritten rule - the majority of teenagers look like the majority of their peers, like they're wearing a uniform. Not all, but most - there are teenagers who don't go for the stereotypical, cookie-cutter look. That rule is true no matter what generation of teenagers you're looking at.

Thrift/vintage/homemade clothes can be great. You have to know what to look for, and what looks good on you.Why do all teenagers appear to look the same?
Check it, the coolest place for me to ';shop'; for ';new clothes'; is goodwill...You can find awesome stuff for hardly any money. I have tons of people ask where I found _____. I do it because I enjoy looking like I don't have to wear the newest, best clothes, and people (contrary to popular belief) don't think that you're ';trashy';...they think you're original. Also, I think $40 bucks for a shirt is pathetic, as is $100 bucks for a pair of jeans (of course Levis are only about 50-60...still laughable).

    Have fun.
Well, the same for here is if you shop at

    A. Wal-Mart

    B. JC Penney's or Goody's

    C. Hollister, AE, Aero

I live two hours in opposite directions from a mall of any sort. Most people enjoy going to the mall south of here, but I like the one north. Not only does that city have more malls, but they have stores that aren't found in the southern mall. And I don't shop at any of the stores listed above, so I don't have that problem of wearing the same stuff as anyone in my school.

I'd love to shop at vintage stores, but I don't have a clue where to find them at. Vintage here is yard sales and bad 8o's clothes.
I love thrift shops and altered clothing!

I couldn't live on Goodwill alone, mind you... everyone needs some staple items (like an awesome pair of jeans, nice slacks, etc...) that you can pair with other items. This is one reason I shop at the mall, to get the fits that are close to impossible to find at a thrift store.

Unfortunately, today's society gives the impression that one needs to stand out to fit in... so all the people who've been following the trends before this piece of news flocks to the nearest Hot Topic to pick up the loudest color shirt in the store. Ironically, all the other kids have the same idea. Now, we have a neon, black hair, skinny jean enshrouded crowd roaming the world.

    I'm with you, mate.
    Hah, I agree. kind of.

But some teenagers do look unique and have a very good sense of style. Their not all Hollister. They are influenced by friends and that's how they dress too. I love the store Sidecca, which is only in California. It has a lot of unique styles so you will never see someone with the exact same shirt as you do.

Flea markets and thrift stores arent popular places for teens to go, probably because they dont know when and where they are and have a different view on vintage things.
And i though i was the only one thinking exacltly the same thing!!I was at the shopping center just last week to get pic taken with my and my daughter (i am 31)and i was sitting down on a bench looking at the girls in general...they do all look the same, same style, same hair...it's like they want to copy each other to be cooler...when i was 15 or 16...originality used to prevail. It's funny how the world has changed...even the guys have 2 or 3 style and that's pretty much it...emo,skater...they all have thier hair long in the front with kinda spike on top...when you try one you tryed them all...there is no more flavor...everything is vanilla!!
    WELL REALLY EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT

    %26amp; THINK ABOUT THIS....

YEAH ALL THE SAME CLOTHES ARE AT THE MALL

BUT PEOPLE DRESS IT UP DIFFERENTLY

THEY MIX %26amp; MATCH THINGS %26amp; PUT IT IN A WAY THAT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE EVERYONE ELSE....BUT THATS ME.

    VINTAGE IS CUTE

BUT U HAVE TO GO TO THOSE STORES TO FIND IT

ITS NOT THAT EASY TO DO THAT EVERY TIME WEN U HAVE A MALL THERE

    SO THATS JUST IT

    :]

HOPE U UNDERSTAND A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT I MEAN
Because when theres a ';popular'; store everyone shops there. Therefore they all look the same.

It's alot easier to just buy clothes than make your own. i do know people that make their own clothes.
My girlfriend (14) looks COMPLETELY different from anyone in her whole school district!
they dont look the same to me im differen im a original but they might all look the same cuz they have the same style ans try to portry that image....preppy... emo..girlie girl...
I'm 15.. i used to buy american eagle holister ect ect ect... but i thought about it.. why be a robot... i need to stand out

    so i did that
i love vintage and i cant sow but im going to make a tutu
and where would you find thrift or vintage clothes

What is a healthy diet and exercise plan for teenagers?

I need a plan that will help me get into better shape. I have a hard time getting the energy to work out and I need a plan that I can follow. What is a healthy diet and exercise plan for teenagers?
It's hard to come up with a plan without knowing your current lifestyle.

Without being too specific, here are some things to remember:

    1. Don't cut out essential nutrients or food groups from your diet

    2. Most of us tend to eat so quickly that we don't know when we're full - take your time when eating and you'll find that you have less room for food than you thought.

    3. Get a good night's rest! We all need the energy for tomorrow.

    4. Find an exercise buddy! It's a lot more fun to work out and get in shape when you do it with friends. Don't do the same boring things all the time, there are plenty of fun ways to exercise!

    5. Don't ever skip breakfast. Try to avoid sugar-filled cereals, but breakfast is important to keep your energy up throughout the day.

And most importantly, keep a positive attitude! Getting in better shape is good for your health and your self-image too. If things aren't working out well, just try something new until you find a plan that fits your style. What is a healthy diet and exercise plan for teenagers?
My wife has been having really good success with the Weight Loss 4 Idiots program. I put the link in the source box below if you want to read more about it. As far as the exercise portion of it, we have been having really good success using the Wii Fit program for Nintendo Wii. It gives you a great workout plus is a lot of fun, so you don't really think of it as exercising. It keeps track of your weight and everything! I hope this helps.

If they are teenagers, a motivated parent would be their best protection. If they have any talent at all they will be chewed up, spit out, and never make a dime without the involvement of a concerned adult.

  • What activities would teenagers enjoy in Paris?

I am taking my younger sister and her friends to Paris for a week and a half during their spring break. They are all eight graders and will have a year and a half of French lessons by then. I want it to be educational as well as fun. Also, we're on a budget.

It will be my younger sister and two friends. What activities would teenagers enjoy in Paris?
Of course, even younger people should see all the standard tourist sights if for no other reason than that they can then one up most of their friends when watching some TV show or a movie which is set in Paris by shouting ';I've been there!'; So yeah, make sure they see the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Coeur, the Opera Garnier, etc etc.

Go check out the big plaza in front of the Centre Pompidu (Which contains the Museum of Modern Art). On most sunny afternoons you'll find all sorts of street entertainers there. Among these will almost always be some guys doing big involved audience participation comedy bits. When they call for volunteers (and they always do) don't hesitate to stand up (or encourage the others to do so). The fact that you probably don't speak French well enough to entirely grasp what is going on will be NO problem. These guys tend to be very good and very funny. You'll all have a great time and if you can have someone snap a picture you'll have a great story to tell when you get home (and a photo to prove it).

If you're really adventurous and bring your skates along you can join in the Friday night skate. Hundreds, sometimes thousands of people all get together to skate thru the streets of Paris accompanied by a Police squad on wheels and an ambulance to deal with any potnetial accidents. The route changes every week. The detaols are here: http://www.pari-roller.com/index.php?p=1鈥?/a>

Also fun for youngsters is La Cit茅 des Sciences et de l'Industrie in the Parc de la Villette. It includes all sorts of interactive exhibits and experiences. You can pilot an airplane, step inside of a camera, travel throughout the human body, visit the Ariane rocket, and such. The Argonaute a real attack submarine is there to be explored and there is also a huge geodesic dome with an Omnimax movie theatre equiped with a 1000 square metre screen. Get there on the Metro to the Porte de la Villette station. See their website for more information: http://www.cite-sciences.fr/francais/ind鈥?/a>

What activities would teenagers enjoy in Paris?
I took my 12 and 16 year old children to Paris a few years ago. They enjoyed Notre Dame, the Louvre (especially Mona Lisa), the Eiffell tower, and a ride on the Seine in a Bat-o-bus. There is a nice shopping mall in the LaDafence district (take the metro there-green line I think. The mall is modern and reasonably priced. From there, you can ride the France railway out to the Palais de Versailles for an afternoon. The kids loved that!! Have fun. I love Paris. Bon Voyage.
A couple museums, of course the Effiel Tower.

    Resturants

and nothing beats a nice walk, or tour bus ride (:

oh, and somewhere where they can buy a couple of things, like an out-door market.

Make sure they get intact with the culture.
Looking for clean drinking water can be very challenging.

What percentage of teenagers don't want to have any human interaction?

I went to the restaurant with my parents and we talked about a phase in my life years ago where I would stay in my home all day and stay on my computer, and that brought up an interesting question: What percentage of teenagers don't want to hang out with friends, go out to clubs, etc? What percentage of teenagers don't want to have any human interaction?
Probably a higher percentage than would actually admit it. You just hear stories about people who go places and do things so much more often because.. who tells a story about a person sitting at a computer?

If 98% of teenagers go to Uni who will be the workers who build houses? Digging holes, getting muddy etc?

Read through the courses available to less able students:

Media studies - How to dig holes

American studies - How to dig holes for Americans

Social studies - How to dig lots of holes

Earth sciences - How to get muddy

We have a long history of using people from other countries to build our houses. There is still a strong Irish connection although many of the specialist trades have been taken over by Poles and Lithuanians. That's why the Pope's coming to see us next year.If 98% of teenagers go to Uni who will be the workers who build houses? Digging holes, getting muddy etc?
Good question I often ask myself but all those students aren't going to get top jobs or be their own boss.

A lot will fall by the wayside or even want to do that sort of work.lets hope not everyone wants to sit at a desk pushing paper about.

Lets face it some are not bright enough to go to uni so those will be employed doing the menial jobs.If 98% of teenagers go to Uni who will be the workers who build houses? Digging holes, getting muddy etc?
If by some miracle 98% of teenagers in America went through and finished University, we would have enough smart people to make machines that build houses, dig holes, and get muddy for us.
That's why Brown has opend the immigration floodgates!

All the teenagers with Uni degrees are mislead into thinking they are worth the paper they are written on and that's why they support Brown as a thank you!
Don't worry, the dire state of education today will ensure the steady supply of menial workers
That's why we will need the immigrated labor to do unwanted job.

Why should teenagers NOT be encouraged to have chocolate bars on a regular basis?

i do no the answer to the question but i was was wondering what your views are?Why should teenagers NOT be encouraged to have chocolate bars on a regular basis?
Because if they have candy like everyday and not as a special treat, they will be acustomed to having it all the time which will later lead to obesity and poor health when they obtain such unhealthy habits. Why should teenagers NOT be encouraged to have chocolate bars on a regular basis?
I can think of no good reason. Chocolate has a bad reputation but is not all that bad when eaten in moderation.
I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that it can cause pimples and acne. otherwise, with the sugar content, it can lead to health problems and obesity.

Why do teenagers always have to have cellphones avaliable?

I am 15 years old and wanting a cell phone but can't have one because I am irresponcable. I need one by the time I am 16 or i will be really mad.Why do teenagers always have to have cellphones avaliable?
aww you poor baby you will be REALLY MAD i feel so bad for you!

maybe you could get a job or at least help around house to prove your not irresponsible then when you do turn 16 get a part time job and help your parents pay for gas to get you to work and pay for this cell phone you wantWhy do teenagers always have to have cellphones avaliable?
your detalis have nothing to do with the question

    you typed jiberish

dont get a cell phone get an english book
lmao. Unless you pay bills my love... you dont need anything. Start paying your own phone bill and then try and ';get mad,'; better yet.. try and get the phone yourself. If you know you're irresponsible, then really...why bother asking for one?
Do what I do be responsible and show your parents you can handle it. We teenagers need Cell Phones all the time so our parents can call us anytime needed or if we need that a family member come to pick us or to let our parents know if we will be getting home late for some reason.
get a job and get a prepaid until you prove you are responsible for a real one.
tell your mom the advantages. she can be in touch with you every moment, she can know where you are and [that you should really tell, it's the masterpiece] if you get into trouble you can call her in order to come and 'save you'.

really works. that's what i told my mother when i was like 10 to get a cell.
As long as you are paying the bill, I don't see a problem with you having a phone. But if you are just wanting a phone to fit in with the rest of the crowd, then you are not only irresponsible (see spelling) but you are also spoiled rotten.
    irresponsible*

im 15. and i have one because my parents trust me, i have one on contract and they trust me not to overspend.

buy one yourself if you really need one...
i have pre-paid cell...it sucks but its better then nothing

What should teenagers look out for when searching for an appartment?

My friend and I are moving in together in June, we're looking around now and wanted some advice on what all to look out for, questions to ask, things like that, thank youWhat should teenagers look out for when searching for an appartment?
As far as choosing an apartment you will want to make sure it is located in a well lit area with plenty of street lights and lights in the parking lot and entry ways. Before you decide to rent make sure you check out the neighborhood at night to see what kind of people are around and if it looks like there might be any kind of trouble (go with your gut feeling) Tell the landlord that you want a new lock and key for the door. You may have to pay for it yourself but they are not expensive and then you will know that there are not extra keys to your apartment roaming around.

Once you decide to rent get everything in writing, how much your rent will be, when it is due, how much the security deposit is, always get recepts for any money you pay to a landlord, if he/she makes any promises like new paint, carpet or appliances get it in writing because once you move in it won't be so important to them and you have no leagal standing to make them do it but if it is in writing then it becomes a condition of the rental agreement. If you pay a security deposit walk through with your landlord and point out anything in the apartment that is already damaged (stained carpet, broken window, broken drawer etc...) and take pictures of it all so that you can not be accused of causing it when you move out.

Never assume that the landlord is a nice person and you won't have any problems, you may not but you very well could so keep yourself covered just in case and if you get a bad vibe from the landlord or the neighborhood trust it and look elsewhere. If I think of anything else I will submit another answer. What should teenagers look out for when searching for an appartment?
You may run into problems if you are not 18 years or older, that's the age required in most states to enter into a legal contract.

Setting that aside though. Your safety should be your primary concern. What I have done is, visit the apartment after dark and see how you feel, do you feel safe to get out of your car and go walk to the pool area or whatever. If not, you won't feel safe living there. Second thing is to ask what there policy is on sex-offenders, do they allow registered sex offenders to live there? And then do a computer check for that area, see if any live close by.

It's also in your best interest to really fill out the little sheet about any defects or damage you spot when you first move in. Even missing door stops as they will deduct any damage from your deposit when you move out.

And you should call your electric company and see what the average bill has ran for past tenants! Something I neglected to do and so wish I had!!!
Roommates really never work so that's your first mistake,

Drive thru the apartments late at night and see how it is,

How are the tenants, and age group
