Do you think contraceptives should be made available to teenagers without parental consent? Why or why not?

What are the pros and cons of making contraceptives publicly available? Please answer. Thanks a lot.Do you think contraceptives should be made available to teenagers without parental consent? Why or why not?
I thk so in todays age kids are way more advanced than they were when our grandparents and parents were growing up. Kids talk to kids about sex not there parents and are curious and try it. Most kid like myself when I was that age dont feel comfortable saying mom Im interested in sex what the 101................ I see no problem with contraceptives being offerd its better than fing out that your 16 year old daughter that you had no clue about her having sex now has contracted HIV or now is pregnant. As the world advances we as parents and conservators we should to be more open minded about this subject and even try harder educating out youth about sex.Do you think contraceptives should be made available to teenagers without parental consent? Why or why not?
It already IS available to teenages w/out parental consent. You can buy condoms from the store! And birth control is available for free too for teens and they do not have to contact your parents.

If it wasn't, think of all the unwanted teen pregnancies. And if they were irresponsible enough to have unprotected sex, a lot of babies would be born to irresponsible parents not yet ready to take care of a baby.
I think they should be available without parental consent because not every teen has a relationship with their parent to be able to tell them that they are ready. If they have fear of talking to their parents about it than they most likely will go without. And in order to prevent they will need them. It's not always the right choice but you have to think how teens these days think. But if they have to have parental consent than it may help the teen and parent so that the parent may be aware and talk to their teen about it.
yes and no

yes because obviously there would be about a million less teen pregnancys

no because some women have blood clots run in there family and if a teen doesnt know her family history and she gets a blood clot from the hormones it can very quickly move to the lungs and kill her.
not all teens have an open/cool relationship with their parents. some parents refuse to talk about sex with their children or simply believe they wont be fooling around because they are ';teens';. so I believe it SHOULD BE available no matter what.
There are no cons! The kids are going to have sex no matter what the parents want or think, so if they don't want to be grandparents or have their kids getting sexual diseases, then they better WANT birth control available or they are just CRAZY!
You can buy contraceptives over the counter. I'm against this because teens shouldn't be having sex that early. They can't take care of themselves, let alone another baby.
they are available without parental consent

i'm personally not for or against it it really depends on the maturity of the individual
They are available without parental consent. And if more people used them we wouldn't have so many ';omg am I pregnant'; questions.
Contraceptives are available to teens without parental consent....
they are publicly available.
Absolutely... teenagers don't get parental consent to have sex...
