I like the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. It's basically about a reluctant teenage spy (aged 14) who is recruited in MI6, it doesn't have much romance in it, although in the third book it touched on it lightly, introducing a possible girlfriend for Alex.
There is also the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. It starts off with a teenage criminal boy who finds out about fairies who are way ahead of technology than humans. Again, it doesn't have much romance in it, although there are hints throughout the series (especially the latest one, The Time Paradox)
Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld is also quite good (it's also a series). Its about how 16 year olds in this futuristic city have to undertake surgery to become a 'pretty'. And how the main character is blackmailed in selling her friend by going to the Smoke, which is a place where so-called ';Uglies'; who don't wish to undertake the operation escape to. It touches on romance more than the above two series, but it isn't really just about romance.
There's also the sweet valley high series by francine pascal (I might have gotten the author's spelling wrong), it's old but still a good read. Basically about these twins who live in sweet valley. Most of it is about romance, but again, it's not the whole story.

Sarah Dessen books, For example Just Listen, truth about forever, that summer, someone like you +. Also The year my sister Got lucky by Aimee Friedman. I also suggest The in and out series written byClaudia Gabel.(Theres four books). KIssing snowflakes written by Abby Sher is also a good book. Walking up to boys by Hailey Abbott is also very good. Also written by here the summer boys series(4 books) You have already probably read these also but the Sisterhood of the traveling pants(4 books) is also really good.

try the eragon seires thats like eadventuree completely, and try drums girls and dangerous pie, its really good, and sad.. and the books by that author who rote drums girls and dangerous pie, jordan sonnenblick- notes form a midnight driver, he also rote zen and the art of faking it but tah wasnt so great
My favorite book is What Would Emma Do? by Eileen Cook. Gamer Girl by Mari Mancusi is really good too.
