Why do teenagers get pregnant in the first place?

I know rape is possible but that is rare. I mean OMG how stupid can you be? Have these kids never heard of keeping their legs shut or protection? Then why do they keep the baby and ruin it's life to?Why do teenagers get pregnant in the first place?
I think maybe, some girls who are insecure and want to be popular, try to fit in by having sex with a Random guy, who says he wont do it with a condom, so they get pregnant that way....





I dont think theyre stupid, just naive, or uneducated,they might think (as LOTS of people do) that its impossible to get pregnant the first time....





I think telling someone to keep their legs shut wont help, because sex is natural, and it needs to be done, and theres nothing wrong with teenagers having sex, if theye both 100 per cent happy with it, but im with you on the protection thing, people need to use contraception, IF they dont want a baby!Why do teenagers get pregnant in the first place?
Ok lady teens get pregnant one way, sex. And that is how all people get pregnant, and oh my goodness they should keep their legs close or at least use protection. And as for the baby part, why should they act as god and choose if someone lives or dies. If they get pregnant then they must deal with the consequences of raising a child, but yet I do believe in adoption. If the parent knows they cannot raise the child correctly then they can put them up for adoption, because blood doesn't matter how good of a parent someone is.
Not all of the babies lives are ruined. Every situation is different. And you ask why they keep the baby, well, their body, their choice. And no protection(besides abstinence) works 100%. Honestly, I think people who say teens shouldn't be pregnant because of birth control are not making things any better because you are just giving them the mentality that if you use protection you will not get pregnant. Don't worry about teens who get pregnant, it's YOUR life that's important.
I was raped 2 times by 2 different people so what I'm stupid because I couldn't keep my legs closed even though he is the one that forced me? Are you serious!!!





Yes they know about all that stuff but all of people have them so scared to come to you and tell you that they need birth control or they need condoms or anything that they will go out there and pregnant. No one wants to talk to someone that just lectures them. That's why there are so many teens pregnant now a days.





As far as keeping the babys and ';ruining'; it's life. You do not ruin a babys life when a biological mother keeps it. It is only ruined when it is a nonloving home. Other then that you don't ruin it. It's good that they keep the baby because it teaches responsibility.





So what exactly was the purpose of this post? You will not accomplish anything at all with something like this.
Look everyone falls to temptation in one area of their life at one time or another. Young teens are tempted more than their share these days. It is in the media and the schools. It seems that sex at a young age has been an acceptable way of life and sometimes when they are put into situation and those hormones take over they lose control and the next thing you know they are having sex without protection. Even some of the kids that have been brought up with good morals can fall into this temptation or let other talk them into something they aren't ready for. They do it without thinking.






listen, you don't know anything. you can't just sit around and say things bout girls that get pregnant, honestly it's not there faults. my best friend lost her virginity to her boyfriend and they were in love and everything and the condom broke on them and she and him had no clue and she got pregnant and didn't know untill three months and had an abortion and she feels horribly. but see the thing is she was in love, and some girls are in love that they of course are going to have sex with there boyfriend and if they are pregnant nobody wants to kill a baby. so untill then when you're in that situation i don't think you will be talking as much crap as you are now.
i dont understand it.





yes, i want a baby. i have since i was like 14.





i love kids. but that's why im a nanny for 2 infants. i like to be able to give them back to their parents at the end of the day and have a full 16 hours of no diaper changing, screaming, hair pulling, etc. I could take good care of a child but i still want to have fun at this time in my life.


and i dont want to give it just good care, but a good family, with a fully participating father.
Because when you are that age your hormones take over and logic can go out the window. I'm sure most don't think that they will get pregnant. There are so many misconceptions out there on sex and pregnancy, I'm surprised that there are not more teen mothers. Some people don't feel comfortable having an abortion or giving the baby up.

';Keep the baby and ruin their life too'; at least we are not getting an abortion! How do you know that their life will be ruined? My daughter has a very good life! Yes I have heard of protection and so has everyone else!





Why don't you keep your mouth shut and your opinion to yourself!? You can stop assuming things because it isn't working for you!
well in reality the same exact thing can happen to an adult and they wouldn't be frowned upon as much as a teenager'


one of my good friends is a teenage mother and she is trying her best to make life as best as she can for her little one.

i had my first child at 15 and the 2nd one at 19, and i was on birth control both times(depo with my first one and the patch with my 2nd) I have been with my husband since i was 14, its been 7 years now.my children's lives were NEVER ruined!!! I even raised my sister (18 now) and my brother (only 15).if it wasn't for my husband and i they would be in foster care. I don't know why people stereo-type parents based upon their age.my own parents are in their 40's and can't even povide a home to their children, a stable job, or anything at all.
Lack of sex education, but also consider that even people using condoms and BC can still end up with a baby. Also, the baby's life is not always ruined. Sure, it's hard, but if it has caring parents and family, then how can you automatically say it has a bad life?

Option one- The guy wears a condom... Dosen't know how to put it on and it comes off or rips.


Option two.- He wants to prove he's a man.


Option Three- He doesn't wear one.


Option Four- The condom is taken off above undies and the ';fishies'; are spilled in there and gets you pregnant.








I don't believe in abortion.


But a lot of wives or single people... want to have a kid but they just can't. There body won't let em.'

We all get it. It sucks that teens get pregnant. That has been established. Live your life, do what you do, get on with it and STOP worrying about someone else who's pregnant.





This is starting to get as bad as the, ';Am I pregnant?'; questions.
sometimes they get pregnant purposely trying to be grown. the majority of the time they get pregnant because they having sex unprotected. alot of the girls having sex want to use protection but be to nervous to tell the parents and they end up pregnant.
it comes from having sex without using any form of birth control.





some girls are afraid to ask for birth control. some just don't know any better...they get caught up in the moment, and then it is too late.





not everyone has the benefit of sex ed.
this is a really stupid question. some kids actually use protection and accidents happen. and rape is not rare. 1 out of three women will be sexually assualted in her lifetime. and you can have sex if you want.

After they get pregnant, I think they won't do it because they don't want to get pregnant and dealing with pregnancy stuff again .
because they thing they are grown. they don't understand that things can happen, it's not just a good time. When you understand that you have to take responsibility for your actions then you will be grown.
maybe some use protection. how ignorant can YOU be? Accidents happen! Rape isnt rare. It happens a lot. They keep the baby cause THEY want to. Gosh!
